  1. Coming back from a 2 year hiatus. Portland used to be primarily dominated by legion, but everyone in legion seems to be MIA. Mostly swarm and a few faceless. Anyone in Portland playing?
  2. PAX West

Any Qonqr Operatives going PAX West in Seattle this year? I think it would be cool to see some other players up there if they are going. #Synclockedfordays
  3. This guide is meant to give hope to new players that join into an area were they are outnumbered or have some huge zones around them. These are my personal opinions and are ment to be a general as possible. Hello new player, let me be first to welcome you to Qonqr. Before I start this guide, I will need you to decide what play style you fit into as this will help you decide what do in overwhelming odds. There are really only 3 types of players 1) The Turtle: You stack defense all day and try to keep to yourself. 2) The Shark: you try to take out anything you see. 3) The pigeon: You are just trying to be annoying to the other players. So now down to the nitty gritty. How to Turtle: Level 0-100 Pick spots you can easily take back with Zone assault and put bases there, usually 2,000 or less bots in that zone. Doing this will allow you to keep a maximum credit flow. Level 100-up Once you have reached level 100 you should be a a competitive level of play. Also, you should have noticed the level of response and quality of response you have been getting for capturing zones. If you are getting hit with missiles from just one player, feel free to stack deflectors as they will probably give up on your zone eventually as they will have bigger fish to fry. Keep hopping around until you find a zone that you can take and stack with minimal effort. If you are getting hit with locals, or Zone assaults, keep persistent and patient. There will be a time were they get distracted with other campaigns out of town. Then that s is when you make your move. If at all possible, get some near by players give some missile support as it will show you are not going solo and may take some heat off of you. How to Shark: All Levels Attack, Attack, Attack. Most shark style players I have run across will look at the largest zone they can reach and do what ever they cant o take it down. That is pretty much it, Sharks just want to focus on one target and drop it down. Then if they can, take it back up under their factions control. Sharks will tend to help other players out of their city more then attack their own. How to Pigeon: All Levels Annoy! Caw! Annoy! Pigeons just want to rain on everyone's parade. They tend to look for zones with under 3,000 bots to turn to their factions control. These zone will get turned back and the Pigeon will turn it again. Hence the annoying part. Pigeons tend not to care about keeping zones their faction and care less about defending them. Pigeons just attack were they can be the biggest problem to the big players. I hope this can give new players a place to start and a desire to play in overwhelming odds and not just switch factions, because that is no fun when every one is on the same team. Comment below if you think there is any more advice to give to newbies in hard to pay areas.
  4. New Players, Don't Bother With Legion

Hello, I'm Kimochi Kuri, also known as Kuri, and here's what I learned in my year of playing QONQR this year. This will be a long story and I'm not going to leave out the BS from my side. Everything I talk about can be found in threads that I can get the screenshots of if needed. I'm not looking to shame Legion nor anyone from it so avoided names and this does not apply to all Legion but merely my experience in the last few months. Some background on me as a player: Legion, Active in SEPA (South-East Pennsylvania), and Active Atlantis Player. Former Faceless player (only played for a week before flipping). DISCLAIMER: There is profanity. This is a long post that I can't TLDR. in a polite manner. With that information given, I want to let you newcomers know that you're better off not expressing any new ideas that break the cycle of Legion. Recently, I've been dismissed from my faction and now a solo player. I don't make this out of spite but I make this to inform. If you have any new ideas to apply strategy to a strategy game then you may as well not join Legion. You're possibly better off playing as Swarm or Faceless. I say this because in the last month, I've been debating whether or not I should quit this game or not from how mistreated I feel by Legion. Are they all bad? No. I've had been helped to a great deal by many of my comrades from Legion and I can't repay some of them enough but others are just downright rude and they will completely bash you and your ideas. Recently, I've had an idea for a defensive strategy for Atlantis, this strategy was simply stack and clear zones in Legion Atlantis by creating a small defense force that would remain that plan throughout the entire span of Atlantis. This group was not attack based but defense. Now, this idea was immediately shot down and disregarded by my former member's of Legion without any regards to how I felt about the idea nor if idea was worth the try or not. They crapped on it complete, only pointing out flaws and discussing how bad the idea was. This in no way welcoming, but that is just the beginning. After the initial dispute, I was told that the idea would be properly discussed after we celebrated, (in regards to the Legion victory in March in which we BARELY WON) and thus I waited a week, like I was told. The fact that we barely won and lost our Melee zone is why the idea was brought into light as we lost a crucial zone. Anyway, I waited an entire week. I said nothing about it, I let the dust settle and all and once that week was up, I reintroduced my idea. This idea was yet again, INTERMEDIATELY SHOT DOWN AND DISREGARDED WITHOUT DISCUSSION. The same people that **** on my idea are the SAME people I've spent a year playing with. These were SUPPOSED to be my comrades. They were SUPPOSED to be my friends. They were SUPPOSED to be my teammates and they completely pushed my idea on the back burner and once it was in the front again, they kicked it off the stove. The result was me not wanting a hing to do with these people. I left all threads except for my local one. The Atlantis Thread, the North Eats Thread, the We Are Legion Thread, the Pennsylvania Thread. Any place where I had to be with these rude people was abandoned. I stayed local and only participated with those who were with the idea of the defense group idea in Atlantis and my local thread. That was it. I recently was going to join an OP for the sake of convenience since I was in SW (South West) PA and I left when the target was not convenient for me. I was scolded for it by saying what I did was rude. I'm sorry that I don't want to be in threads with people I don't feel comfortable with. Today, on this day, I was removed from my local thread. I am now by myself and solo. All because I had an idea. All because I didn't want to work with people who were rude to me. I get that they helped me before but that doesn't make up for now. I'm a ******* person before I am a player. I have ideas, I share them with my friends, I expect my 'friends' to not **** on them. This isn't what you do to welcome people. This isn't how you make someone belong to a group. It's no surprise why Legion is a small faction, it's because it 's a small circle with nothing but the same ideas and same people with one hive mind. How you see this varies but this is my story and why I am now a solo player in QONQR. If I didn't have bots built up and some respect still lingering for those who helped me then I would have flipped to Faceless, because even if they have bad communication, at least I would have felt welcome in some way because I sure as **** don't feel welcome as Legion. Good job, Northeast Legion. You guys are ******* rock-stars. Pew Pew Pew. To clarify, I'm not mad about my idea being shot but how it was handled as someone who spent a year in Legion. - Kuri
  5. blah blah blah

Curious about something..the genesis of the faction names in particular and some other details.. Influenced by Anonymous much? Legion is a term often used "we are legion..." Swarm.. Hive mind.... Faceless.. Guy Fawkes mask..hackers.. The pic used for the plasma cannon...very similar to the pic used in the old ddos tool LOIC ....just saying there are some very familiar 'accidental' references
  6. Stelly of Legion will be missed by all who knew him in his position of 18th on the FL state leaderboard. In unrelated news, anyone who would like to watch Stelly's demise can tune in within the next 12 hours or so. Cheers, all. And happy Qonqring!

Hello friends! I made a couple wallpapers for all factions, as vector graphic practice (first time ever used it actually). Hope you'll like them. Be warned, though - they have extreme 8k resolution, so you open them at your own risk. I won't be responsible for possible explosion of your computers or phones (or other devices) YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THEM HERE: https://www.dropbox....gamesh.rar?dl=1 Without further delay, here they are: Faceless: Legion: Swarm: Write what you think, any criticism is welcome. Also, if you have any idea on how I can improve them / change colors / etc. PM me please. Maybe I'll answer

  9. A New Legion Superpower

Just three months ago Northeast Indiana was all faceless. But that all changed when me and my brother decided to give qonqr another try. We we're just a weak legion outpost in the middle of faceless territory to begin with. Slowly we started claiming territory at a breathtakingly slow rate. So we had an idea, lets recruit our friends. But all four of them became swarm. So we shifted our focus to containment. By making pacts with faceless players to keep our own friends from spreading their influence. We were able to maintain our ground for the time being. A month went by with this back and fourth banter, but nothing really changed. Then out of the blue. One of are friends switched to legion, then another, then another, till finally they all turned. That's when things got fun. No longer were we just some small operation, but a force to be reckoned with. After the "switch", the faceless started losing territory fast. In one month we quadrupled our own holdings. But we still had two major faceless foes that were not going down without a fight. Another month went by, seeing the legion to many victories. We had finally become a superpower. Now we fast forward to two weeks ago. We owned all of northeast Indiana, and were undisputed. It was then I received the message that our greatest enemies both turned legion. At that moment we became unstoppable. Currently we are rapidly expanding are borders into Ohio and Michigan, I still think back to those days when only me and my brother were the only legionnaires in the area. We're lucky that we have an army now that is deadly, friendly, and willing to extend a helping hand. The lesson to be learned hear is that if you play your cards right you might end up a superpower too. Plus you gain many strong and kind allies that will lead your faction down the road of succes.
  10. I love Qonqr. Intro and Background: I’ll give you a History of me on the game. I was born to Qonqr in Puerto Rico, Legion was the weak faction there and so I was born into Legion. In Puerto Rico is an island of 100miles wideX 35 miles across. There are more than 3000 territories in that space. I loved Qonqr being played against 6 people total with that many territories around. A capture was assured every time you checked in. and that was fun. I am also a very offensively minded player, so the defensive aspect of the game was never an enjoyable part of the game. Seattle: Summer of 2013 I moved to the Greater Seattle Area. Legion was a good group, the swarm had a healthy group and the faceless had big group that spent some money in some battles in the area. This was also fun but also frustrating because when 20-30 people defend the battles can get pretty intense (and kind of spendy). Legion lost some team members, and I switched to the swarm group in order to have better balance in battles, (and I felt left out). I later set about achieving all the hidden defection medals( I am legion at heart), so I spent 120 days in each faction. I have also spent a fair amount of dollars in this game. The greater Seattle area has many veteran players, We keep an all teams Groupme group to socialize and sometimes trash talk each other. But I understand that this type of group is fairly rare in the game. The actives in the area are about 30 players across all factions. Current status of the game: Looking at most major metropolitan areas (where the people are). I see Million bot towers that I assume are fully supported. It makes me wonder what the original vision for the game was: A dynamic map where things have the potential to change every day? Or a hopelessly gridlocked game where high fully supported towers are the norm? The Ingress Problem: I am fairly exited for blue version of Qonqr. But I recently tried out ingress for Iphone. This game is similar to Qonqr in some ways but very different. The dynamic is different in that your range never improves over 30 meters. So you can’t really play from the comfort of bed or couch. You have to walk somewhere to capture anything. You also have to link your current portals (zones) to create fields. You also have to recharge your Resonators (defensive bots) every 3 days in order to maintain a portal. The game is many times over more complex than Qonqr. But It has an order of magnitude more players in the area. This might be due to the platform that it is on, but since the range is so small, it forces players to actually meetup in order to capture a heavily defended zone. This meetups happen every day and the map changes as a result. Since you can’t get up and defend a portal when it’s under attack by 5-10 players you are pretty much guaranteed a meetup of the other side to take it back sometime this week. This creates a virtuous cycle of engagement with the players. So much so that the GROUPME community for Ingress is tiered: A welcome group that redirects you to your local chat (as soon as a trusted operative confirms your scope as good). Also the monetizing of the game is different. Ingress monetizing is gathering human movement for Google (and corporate sponsors), and Qonqr is primarily player supported, so that is a challenge, but the side effect is that no player can buy their way to victory. This creates more community, as the only way to victory on the map is to work together. It surprised me to know that ingress is younger than Qonqr. But the community of Ingress is Way more involved with their game than we are. Part of The Problem, and part of the solution The problem IMO is that all the zones are fully supported, and that will not change anytime soon, anywhere. Most of the support around here is from inactive players. Maybe that is the case everywhere, I don’t know. I propose the following mechanism for at least having a chance at eroding support, get more kills to the players and have a chance to change the map in your local area. I propose that you introduce Divert field decay (not shield decay). This effect would be implemented like the shield decay. Amended from the Blog “After a player has failed to launch in QONQR for 30 days, the divert field will decrease by 1% each additional day they fail to launch a new formation. Launching in any zone will immediately reset the clock and put your divert field back to 100%. My thinking is that this divert field will bring old inactive support to the front of the battle lines, motivating players and encouraging battles, It would also encourage redundant support from active players and spending of game credits on support, which is always good for Qonqr. What say You Qonqr Comunity? There is a poll on the top of the page, be sure to vote, as I might be crazy and nobody agrees with me.
  11. So, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. When I started playing QONQR, I went with Faceless. Unfortunately, there are practically NO active Faceless members in my area or in Mississippi altogether, pretty much. So that leaves me with 2 choices. Stay where I am and pretty much fight the war by myself, or change factions and actually make friends and have some help. Problem is, I don't know which faction has more active members in Mississippi, Swarm or Legion? Any help would be appreciated..
  12. Vulcan Death Grip

For the however manyth consecutive time, the Capt. and crew have successfully defended the Vulcan Illinois 4.5mil Legion tower. Last month an attempt to burn the zone was, until today, the most recent and proved to be UnSuccessful. Primarily a ground battle, Legion agents defended against local area Faceless and Rogue agents. The zone dropped several hundred thousand but the decline quickly halted. A well organized Legion team wore down their opponents and the operation failed. Today marked another failed attempt as the Faceless again attacked the zone. In an air strike that lasted several hours, Capt. & crew easily defended their vessel and took minimal damage. Nanomissles from all areas of Illinois (except the southern part, it's just a big missile dump), were sent in. Once again, the well oiled Legion machine quickly organized and held a blockade. It's likely the outcome was Governed by limited resources as the Faceless missile reserves depleted. Will Legion be able to hold their Vulcan death grip on this zone? Only time will tell. The more interesting question... why is it so highly coveted?
  13. Stoppable Force

To quote another topic that dings90 started; "OK, it is now proven that Faceless is an unstoppable force. Sorry, had to be said. I'm ready for all the cubing comments, but I saw plenty of cubes being utilized by the losing 2 factions as well. We also can say we beat you both since you double teamed us for a good portion of the battle. We have nothing more to prove!" Wow the swarm won this Atlantis even though we were getting double teamed . But seriously great work swarm.
  14. I am resigning as legion leader president ruler tyrannical leader. Dings paid me so I'm taking a break. -serious- he didn't, don't even start anything with him on this- -serious- I'm taking a long break since this game isn't fun anymore. Hopefully after the break I can get my Qonqr love back. -not serious- dings is love. Dings is life
  15. Little question

I play since 2,3 month ago, suddenly at the same time 2 player started taking my zones (no problem the game is like this lol) BUT... All the times the 2 players attack at the same time, ALWAYS, I`ve been watching for a while before writting this... Is it possible that... it`s only one person with 2 accounts? Of course I can not defend anything if everytime I have to do it I`m agains 2 players ALWAYS... So... What do you think? Thanks! CODENAME: GeRyKatina
  16. Defection

A random swarm member messaged me today, asking if he could switch to the legion. My obvious answer was yes. But after my reply, he asked if he could switch BACK to swarm if he wanted to. It was an odd question I did not know the answer to. Could somebody enlighten me about this sunny disposition?
  17. After playing several Atlantis rounds, I've realized some things in the macro sense of the word. The most obvious on is that the legion of the world are no where near as badass as the ones we deal with on the East Coast. This round it is obvious that Legion has again struck an agreement with Swarm. There is no swarm-legion activity going on short of Swarm retaking Kalkin for Legion. On the other hand, the Swarm of the world are much more ruthless than the small sect we have on the East Coast. They have numbers, cubers and a willingness to kill that I'm just not used to seeing from Swarm around me. There seems to be an impressive level of cooperation and coordination amongst themselves. And I'm gonna call us out too. The Faceless of the world struggle to get organized just as much as we do on the East Coast. It's like being an ADD kid and trying to keep your binder organized at school. Everyone is super interested in becoming organized under excellent leadership, but the rubber just never meets the road. I've been enjoying this round more than ever, it's been an awesome chance to come together and meet people from half a dozen new countries. This is now the most international thing I've ever had my hand in and I love it. I mean no disrespect by anything I've said above, merely sharing my observations about the Qonqrverse. I encourage everyone else to post their findings as well (without getting out the flamethrowers, lets be civil). Anyway, as my good friend Wheg's avatar says, Have lots of fun! See you in battle

  21. Hello everyone! About a year ago I created a post called "Global Leaderboard Top 50", in this post I outlined some stats for the Top 50 players in the world based purely on bots deployed. 22. So there's been some discussion in other threads.. but I think we need an official debate thread for the topic if there isn't already. I couldn't find one so here it is. I'll start. :3 So.. obviously, I'm arguing in favor of the legion. It's freaking called QONQR. What friendly AI would call itself qonqr?! Why go by such a threatening name if your intentions are good? I liked deej's argument of legion being the liberators. Man kind has progressed just fine on it's own.. Better safe than sorry, right? Plus, who doesn't love to blow stuff up all the time? I won't admit to looking for drama by posting this. I've heard a lot of arguments but I want to hear it all.
  23. Answers about C.E.L.

There has been a lot of thread spamming about this topic lately and I apologize for adding to it, but I wanted to add a thread that embodies all the conversation on C.E.L. instead of having a separate thread for individual C.E.L.-related comments. C.E.L. = Council to Eliminate Legion For those unaware, C.E.L. was originally a Florida based alliance of Swarm and Faceless against Legion. It has since spread to other areas. It is no different than Swegion or whatever you call Faceless and Legion (Facegion? Legless?). I spent some time with C.E.L. before becoming Legion and have to say, their best attribute that makes them such a devastating force, isn't their numbers, but their organization. Who leads C.E.L.? C.E.L. leads C.E.L. There is no “one” distinct leader. As in any group, clique, family, etc. there are those who take on a leadership role. These are often the people who are more outspoken/charismatic, those with the ability to rally others behind them. They may be Swarm or Faceless, and they may change from one moment to another as members join and leave with different personalities. How Many members does C.E.L. have? It is hard to say how many members C.E.L. has because not everyone in C.E.L. is either active or in Groupme. Some Swarm and Faceless just observe the alliance because a member of C.E.L. mentioned it to them. Does C.E.L. dominate by its numbers? The key to C.E.L.'s strength is not in their numbers, but in their coordination with their active members. Having been a part of both Legion and C.E.L. rooms, the numbers are relatively close in active members, but Legion is a lot more disorganized. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that much of Legion members are in Northern FL and a few of the Southern members are no longer around, leaving a select few Legion in South Florida. Why are so many complaints coming from Florida? As has been complained about, Florida is unique from the rest of the U.S., in that it doesn't have any land bordering more than 75% of it. Also, Florida is 721km long, so for some of us in south FL, all attacks are limited to whatever is in our immediate area and North of us. For those in other states, imagine your range to be about 150 km on all sides except north, where you get your full 400 km range. Does C.E.L. Pressure other Faceless/Swarm to join? No. In my time in C.E.L., never have I heard anyone say, I guess I’ll be in C.E.L., I was given no choice. Does C.E.L. Attack non-C.E.L. Faceless/Swarm? C.E.L. is an alliance in its own. While their primary target is Legion, it is open game for non-members as well. For the most part, C.E.L. leaves these non-C.E.L., Faceless/Swarm, alone, unless those individuals are causing issues. I’ve heard some C.E.L. swarm that have truces with non-C.E.L. Faceless and vice-versa as well as some having drawn out battles with each other. In most cases, the non-C.E.L. Swarm/Faceless is left alone in case they later decide to join C.E.L. or in case they actually are a member (inactive or non-Groupme user) or observer of the truce. Does Faceless/Swarm Hold More Power in C.E.L.? Nope. When I had first joined, one of the first things I remembered was a lot of talk about how evenly distributed zones were. In fact, Tetra has a post supporting this [Here] that shows how close in numbers Swarm and Faceless are. One of their biggest emphasis is on equality between the two factions and I’ve even heard in ops, “Okay, Faceless captured the last zone, so this one is yours, Swarm.” (…and vice versa). You are Bullying New Legion Players into Quitting or Switching! The role of the game is to fight, this is a war game. As Faceless, I fought with Legion Newbies, as Legion, I will fight Swarm/Faceless Newbies. If they quit because of that, then this game isn’t for them. In fact, you level faster by attacking zones, then you do by stacking them. The idea is strategy and survival of the fittest! Conclusion Whether it were C.E.L. or if all the C.E.L. members were Faceless or all Swarm, it wouldn’t matter. In fact, it would likely be even worse for Legion, since it is easier to unify all as one faction, at least this gives C.E.L. a handicap in that they are limited in being able to support each other without attacking each other.
