I personally play on the iOS version of QONQR but I know about 4 or 5 people who would easily become devoted QONQRERS if there was an Android version available. Any idea when or if this will be released?

Same here. A few people are interested in the secretiveness of the game, the hidden war and all that.
I usually jest with them that they need to be owners of a Windows Phone or iPhone to join the club. I think it just makes them want to play it more :)

But for sure, there does seem to be a lot more Android owners in my immediate friend circle then WP or iOS. It would certainly be a welcome game for them.. and me as long as they join the faceless :)

With the most definite release of OUYA and the Devs statement about working on an android and pc version I could easily see this being made available for the OUYA as well.

Devs: what do you think?

Q: When will it be coming?
A: Soon™

I am a backer on OUYA, and will be getting a console. We want our Android release badly. But the problem with Android that has slowed us down is that Android is so expensive for development (and even more expensive to support the bugs on all the different phones). Donn Felker is one of the QONQR founders.

He wrote this book on Android.

Donn is currently part-time on QONQR, and writes Android (and some iOS) applications for huge companies that are house hold names. Donn has said many times in the Android community that the platform fragmentation has raised the cost of development to be 2x or 3x that of iOS. As a small game company, that is a huge expense.

We do have much of our Android code written already, but need to be super frugal with the limited cash we have. We aren't ignoring our Android friends, but until we get to a better financial position, we can only limp the development along. I hope that changes very soon.

Please stick with us. We really are going to have an Android release. I just can't say when.
Stand back, I'm working here.

(FYI, I can no longer keep track of issues reported via Forum Messenger. If you have an issue, please email support@qonqr.com)

Any movement on the Android release since this last post?

I'm an avid SWARM player down here in Australia and I'm moving over to Android this week, will miss not playing QONQR regularly...

Ehhhh ._.
It's not like has happened down here while you've been away Tyrauns! Haha
Little Faceless showed a couple weeks ago, but I haven't seen anything from in a while haha

An android version would be great, it would bring more players and I have a few friends who want to get into QONQR when it's released on android haha

Ha, thanks for the heads up Tyranus and Spideyy10 ! As you have probably noticed - in the last 24 hrs I have taken about 80 of tyranus's zones and about 10 of spideys. I also swept aside your puny defenses and took the state capital zone (Melbourne). I believe my bots may have engaged in a bit of rape and pillage whilst at it. I dont condone such behaviour - but boys will be boys. They tell me there is not a virgin left in the zone after they took it (I think there was none before they arrived however).
Before I left I put a handful (200k) of bots in the captital to keep you guys occupied for a bit. If you need any advice on defending a state capital - have a look at ours - Sydney, it has 2 million bots with 40k Galvanizers etc etc ...

Good idea we could also start calling random phone numbers around the world to recruit people to our cause and if they get mad at us for calling we can just say "yeah I'm any swarm/faceless guy in the world and joining the legion would be a perfect way of getting your revenge"

There actually is a Legion guy there - icedbea, he is the only non-swarm player in Victoria (the state Melbourne is in) who actually has a captured zone (well apart from my recent rampage). I left him alone and even cleared a few zones around him with plasma beams so he can take them. Im such a nice guy.

I cant wait for an Android version as well. I have a Nexus 7 that I use on the bus every morning and its a pain having to switch back to the iphone to check qonqr.

I mainly use iOS but I recently won an Android tablet in a contest. Finally got it last week.

I noticed that it has a Developer menu in its Settings. In there you can change the device's location that it reports to the apps running on the system. Wouldn't this tend to let people cheat at QONQR?

McPwn, there is actually a way to check if that is enabled, and then throw up a message saying please change the settings before continuing, then not allowing them to actually play until they do.

Any way we can get an update? I'm trying to recruit some friends and they say the app doesn't show up in their store.

+1, plenty of friends still trapped on Droid that would probably at least try it out.
