Hopefully the new Atlantis rule added this month will put an end to all this arguing about multis in atlantis.

The forums are still a really good resource, especially for new players even if there not as active as they once we're. Basically most communication has moved to other channels, mainly groupme. I'd join a local or regional groupme chat for your faction, it will help you stay in the loop. QONQR is a smaller gaming community but its continuing to grow every day. The developers are still active and have relatively recently added to their team. The latest changes added to the game have been Launch Authorization and an completely revamped portal with new features.
The most recent update was the addition of a 1 million kill Atlantis badge, which was just added this week.
There are plans to release a sequel or "major release" to the game later this year which is referred to as QONQR Blue.
The blog isn't as active as it once was either, my guess it's because there very busy on QONQR Blue.

matwonk got a reaction from codename1234 in Not in range
My answer would be, as crazy as it sounds, to drive within range of a zone and build up your level. The higher your level the longer the range you have. If you level up high enough you can eventually gain a range of 400 miles with missiles. It sucks but basically that's the only situation with the game as it is.
Kanamack, he would only be level 1 so his range would not be 30 miles.
The developers probably should come up with a solution to this, however you'd have to be in a pretty remote area for this to happen, so its unlikely this comes up to much.

The truth is, as a whole, a high majority of players in Atlantis don't multiscope, Legion's recent victories are related to strong participation among Legion players and a strong campaign in recent months to get all Legion in most of the global involved. And also stronger legion leadership and more coordinated attacks. Yes, there are and always have been multiscopers in Atlantis, even amongst Legion, but I don't think there has been a recent upsurge in multiscoping. If you think there has been, then Sync Lock works in Atlantis too, I know because I've Sync Locked 2 faceless players in atlantis before. To attribute our recent wins in Atlantis to multiscoping undercuts the strong efforts and dedication we've put into these last few months of Atlantis. Almost half of the players in our Atlantis Group Me chats are new, which to me shows that our participating levels have increased significantly. What are you going to argue next? That people are multiscoping groupme?

So don't ask me why I'm watching the bachelor right now.... AKA my wife has the remote. Anyways, I realized I live less than an hour away from him. Long story short, Arlington, Iowa, home of the Bachelor, is now controlled by Legion... For anyone who may care...

matwonk got a reaction from Hypno5 in No Limit Cubing, is it fair?
That player in particular, DodgyArab, must be spending in the upper thousands of dollars from what I saw in past Atlantis games. He was hitting zones none-stop with refresh packs. I swear he must never sleep or work either. In the Atlantis from 2 months ago he all but took down an entire zone with 10 million bot zone by himself.
I think cubing should be allowed obviously its what pays for the game and for the most part I think that part of the game should stay as is. But maybe some high limit that would prevent extreme cases like this from happening. Something like after and hour of nonstop refresh packs you hit a Refresh Pack Overheat that lasts for a few hours that would prevent refresh packs from being used.
I can see how the developers would be worried about limiting cubing as it might anger high spenders, but consider this. Say this player causes 10 or more players to leave the game and 2 or 3 of those players buy cubes and use them within a reasonable amount, well then your losing those 2 - 3 potential spenders because they now feel the game is hopeless and feel like their use of cubes was a waste.

matwonk got a reaction from JPT in Beachhead detailed
Actually offensive beachheads can attack any defensive bots that the enemy tries to deploy while your attacking. For instance if you've created a "beachhead" using Zone Assault and the enemy deploys Defection to that zone, your zone assault bots will attack the incoming defection bots making it so that only some of the deflection bots survive. Basically it forces the enemy to remove your beachhead bots before they can deploy defensive bots. Again, this is for offensive beachhead bots, not defensive bots such as absorbers.

I'm torn between both sides of the argument. On one hand Earit is right, I mean there are a lot of Legion players who don't play in atlantis and we don't necessarily call them boycotters. They have similar reasons for not playing, they can't justify losing zones to enemies while playing in Atlantis, most of our strongest players don't ever play in atlantis. Earit your right, if Legion had a lot more participation, especially some of our most strongest and dedicated players, we'd probably win every time in Atlantis.
While on the other hand I think the argument from faceless that they are not boycotting, set that their just defending their zones during atlantis doesn't make sense either. I think its more than just a few Faceless players deciding not to play because they either want to better their local area or defend their local area. If that were the case we'd see just a little less faceless activity at atlantis, but instead we see almost no activity. That's all the evidence we need to know that it's not just a select group of faceless players deciding not to play, its an intentional boycott likely brought on by Faceless leaders and spread amongst their ranks.
And last, I do agree with the need to increase incentive to play in atlantis to justify the resources and time spend in the battle. I know there were discussions to increase harvest capacity to the winning team and some other rewards. I think doing more to help increase participation would be nice.

My "name" or "Gamertag" started nearly 20 years ago, I was in elementary school playing an old Windows 95 game on the school's computers. I got a high score on the game and was typing in my "high store" and typed in matwonk. I was trying to type in "Matt Won" but a teacher was coming close to seeing my computer and I had to type quickly. I ended up missing a t and a space and hit k at the end. One of my friends later saw it and thought it was funny. I kind of thought it was a cool nickname so I used it whenever I filled out a high score on a game. Later on when I got into online games I used it as my username/gamertag. People online always thought I was chinese,(I'm not). it took me a while to realize it was because of the wonk at the end of my gamertag. I've used that tag for years now.

Agreed, I was never in the first Atlantis but this was the best one by far for me. I think the shorted time span really made a difference it made it so that the zones weren't stacked up to high and the shorted match time made it so that players didn't get bored or distracted.
We knew we were close Desideratus that's why we fought so hard in the last few hours and I think that's what made the gameplay so fun in the last day. It was definitely one **** of a game, best fun I've had in QONQR so far. Only thing I wish would have happened differently was I wish we could have held a couple more zones at the end to really show how close the match really was between Faceless and Legion, but that's how the game goes, I knew it would come down to the last few minutes.
GG all hope to see everyone again next month.
Just to show how close it was I took a few screen shots before the end of the match, this one was taken about 70 minutes before the end:
