On Zones

Recommended Posts

To see the boundaries, I don't think so, not on iOS anyway.

I think they acquired the map data from a company (vague answer I know) and some zone names have their origin from oldie times rather than modern day.

for some reason, "three different open source databases" seems to be a quote snippet coming to mind on the source. I believe it was in reference to why we often see duplicated zones.

Last fall, we invested nearly two months of our revenue into custom mapping solution that showed map boundaries and color coded the map. We posted a few prototypes here.

We had to put the project on hold as costs were escalating well beyond budget. The system is 80% complete. We are looking for a low cost alternative to see if we can get the system wrapped up, but GIS and cartography people with software development skills are hard to find and expensive. Hopefully this will be finished in the first half of 2014.
